POLI.design, founded in 1999 by Politecnico di Milano, aims to promote design in all its aspects and to promote the meeting between the academic research, the companies demand for innovation and the potential of individual practitioners.
The direct relationship with the professional world is guaranteed by the associated components: four major professional Italian design associations are members of POLI.design: ADI, the Italian Association of Industrial Design, AIAP, Italian Association for Visual Communication, AIPI, Italian Association of Interior Designers, and FLA, FederlegnoArredo.
POLI.design operates in four business areas: training, consulting, events, and publishing. POLI.design, together with the School of Design of Politecnico di Milano and the Department of Design makes the Design System of the Politecnico, which is one of the largest aggregations of resources, knowledge, structures and laboratories dedicated to design in the world.
As part of the Politecnico di Milano, POLI.design is a container of knowledge and experience, and draws from the large set of multidisciplinary expertise of the first and most important Italian technical university, and is also significantly related to the Italian Design System, thanks to relationship with the Design Associations. POLI.design acts by establishing partnerships with universities, corporations, institutions, and also with companies with which it shares the same goal of spreading:
